Many of you kind folks have helped me with the BioCube 29 that I set up in September! I love it. I just saw a 54 gallon corner tank at Petsmart that I also fell in love with [emoji7]and have the perfect spot for....I'm thinking of trying to convince my spouse we need it. Lol

However, one of the things I like about the BioCube is that it is (relatively) easy to work with for a non-handy person such as myself [emoji23], and everything is already where it needs to be. I didn't have to drill anything or figure out how to make a sump, and the lights were already in place. I am totally lost on where to even begin if I were to get a new tank that isn't an all-in-one unit.

For starters...would I need to have a hanging light over the corner tank? Or would I be able to find lights that fit on top of this weirdly shaped tank?

I'm so lost I'm not even sure where to begin to research! But I do have that giddy new tank feeling of possibilities!

Also, any tips on convincing my spouse would be appreciated too. [emoji38]

Well I HAVE a 54 gallon tank and I like it a lot for looking at!!!! The one thing I'm REALLY unhappy about is I'm 6 ft 2 in and with the height with the stand is just too tall for me too reach the bottom without standing on something. I would just make a custom stand that would make it a bunch easier to work on, or just move corals around, cleaning algae, or anything. They are a standard size so you should be able too find light fixtures and things

Thank you, @Zero Nitrates and @jmerideth1!

@jmeredith1, that is an incredibly good point. I am 7 inches shorter than you, so the height issue is definitely something I need to consider! Thank you!!

Question: if I were to get this tank and keep it as FOWLR for a while, until I can afford to upgrade the lighting, would the fish mind? Is it just corals that would need the better lights?

As it happens, I ended up spotting a lovely 92 (!) gallon corner tank on Craigslist and snapped it up!! [emoji44][emoji44][emoji44] Now I have a lot of planning to do![emoji851]
