Unfortunately I did purchase these at retail... Along with a 48-60" Reef as well. I wish I knew when I bought them... But on the other hand my LPS seem to be doing good :)

Dang, well that tank would really pop with a maxpect razor fixture. Try selling those off. lol

I have a 120gal I will be setting up soon (60"Lx18"Wx24"H). I have a Marineland 48-60" Reef Capable for that one, but I'm thinking it'll need more. I'm trying to decide what to add to it, was thinking a couple par38 bulbs. (Since I already spent so much on that one)

lol, your gonna need way more light. you wont be happy with 2 more par 38s, they will run you around $100 each and your just adding 2 spotlights that dont look like the rest. Try and sell the marineland to someone. My next choice of light is gonna be the maxpect razor that i keep pushing. but your gonna need 2 at least.

Welcome and you are from my favorite place, St. Pete!! Tank aquascape looks good!

Kind of missed you there
St. Pete is nice, but crowded which can get old.
Thanks on the aquascape. I like the way it looks but it does however create some dead spots. When the 120 goes up I will be able do a better job.

I just got the Programable full spectrum LED from Reefbreeders. they got new ones in new length, but not that pricey around 3 to 4 hund.. havent heard anything negative so far on them, and it looks great on my tank. Granted I don't have many corals up, its very capable of hosting close to any corals your looking for

The reefbreeders looks pretty nice. I'll have to consider them. Pretty well priced for the size as well compared to others

I've been thinking about this 56 gallon as well. Would you still recommend it after having it for a while? I've read complaints about dead spots due to the height, and I figure I have that easily figured out utilizing vertical spray bars.

I actually switched everything over to the 120 I have. I am currently trying to sell the 56. I liked the 56 but I did have dead spots. I guess that would depend on what return pump/powerhead(s) you'd have along with the aquascape. I had about 200 gph on the return and a 750 & 425 Koralinas with the wave maker (so half their power per hour). I ended up adding another 750 & 425 about a week before I took it down and it seemed to have gotten rid of dead spots.

Pros- if going LED a single fixture would work, small footprint for the water capacity, easy placement in house/apt
Cons- not big/wide enough for larger fish, I had to modify the shelf in stand for access to protein skimmer (if using the same Marineland stand)

Summed up- I liked it and only reason I'm no longer using it is because I don't want to maintenance 2 tanks
