This looks like a fun thread to follow. I just started a new tank with the rock from my old tank and dry rock. I was back and forth on dry vs. live and decided on dry. I like the idea of keeping everything that comes with the live rock instead of picking and choosing what you keep.

Just got my collection of corals back! I sold all my coral copies to a local with the promise I would get a frag of each back. Today I cashed in!

For anyone curious to see a tank that had zero dosing, all ocean rock, no quarantine, and no chemicals looked like? This was my old one I just broke down!

Disclsimer: No hitchhikers were hurt or killed in the making of the following photos.

Don't let people convince you that you can't have a beautiful tank with "pests" present or without dosing chemicals!

I've been keeping aquariums since the 1970's and run my tanks pretty much the same way, with pretty much the same results. My latest tank has been set up for close to three years and gone through three size upgrades. Never more than a short duration sprinkle or two of uglies, and never removed any hitchhikers. The original two fish I put in are still alive and well, and I have not lost any fish I have added over the years...

That's a Talbots Damsel. Mine has been a model citizen and is always out in view. That damsel and the pictured Darwins Clownfish started out in my Nuvo 10 in 2018 are still both alive and kicking. The clown now has a mate and they spawn like clockwork

I love damsels. Ill look out for the talbots. Its beautiful.

Ok people. I would be niave if I didn't realize that there certainly are some creatures that can't play nice in s reef tank. One such creature is a gorilla crab and another would probably be a mantis shrimp. Well I just found another! This little dude was literally just eating one of my fiorest fire mushrooms with all the lights on! I literally cannot believe it. Anyway ge now lives in the sewer...

Diadem Dottyback. Aggressive tank indeed haha. What was that worm? I guess this shows that hitchhikers generally aren’t the boogeyman some make them out to be but there are occasionally some naughties that do need to be kicked out. And kicking them out doesn’t need to be a big drama.

Not too sure. I'll research it tonight. Definitely not a normal bristleworm. He is gone now, no big deal.

That be a fireworm… they feed on all types of corals, nems, etc., and have one heckuva sting! Do NOT touch with bare hands EVER and remove whatever you find when you find it
