Did a water change today, no particular reason.

Had alot of detritus piles that the fish kept stirring up like sand dunes. Also cleaned some very thick green slime on front glass .

might as well blow off rockwork and water change some of the junk out…

Corals hate when I do it but i think water quality long term is a +

The ugly stage revisited with new rock on an existing reef tank.

Left rock is 3 months, white brown rock is 1 month, purple is 8months /2 years from old tank.

have some gnarly brown cyano dino mix growing but i think itll pass in time with carbon dosing . Waiting game. Corals are looking excellent except for acros post move.

Ato kept water up to height, though skimmer chamber water line went high and began over flowing and made a huge mess, now cleaned up. Considering removing the foam piece between the skimmer chamber and return pump section.

Ato with some kalk has been a game changer for stability.

green pink tip torch on the right was almost dead and now its on the way to two heads recovery. Pretty awesome.

goni is slightly unhappy but its new to tank, stays mostly retracted . Going to try spot feeding some.

If your goni is staying retracted and it's longer than 2 days move it to less par. Trust me. Then you can slowly bump it up.

Lps, zoas, and “easy” sps all doing well

i think tank maturity is why acros arent doing the best more surviving than thriving. Same with gonipora.

i did move to a corner per @F i s h y
