so when we put deionized water in our tanks, it wants to pull minerals :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

When we use di water it willingly absorbs the minerals from the salt. It will reionize with the existing tank water. Something like that. I think?

I stirred sump up with a small power head, changed filter fleece, and completed my 10% water change. exporting some of the stirred up.

Will hopefully see a decline in N tomorrow on test.

Skimmer is working decently now :)

So.... Im going to try a small amount of bio pellets in the reactor instead of GFO.

Would like to support Bacteria colony vs just removing phos. Going very slow on it.

Mostly a bandaid until more algae is in stock to fully stock the fuge.

Think the tank is settling in, back algae is dying off or being eaten. 3/4th gone

Parameters seem settled, just higher than id like. prefer .15-.2 p and 30n not 50

Things growing, just fine tuning.

Turning pumps off, blasting sump around with a small powerhead, water changing only water from that sump.

Then replacing floss next day. Does work well for nutrient removal!

Sooo... Went out to lunch to meet with a friend.

Decided to stop by a small local shop I went to maybe 6-8 months ago. Didn't buy anything but dug the vibe.

Went in and felt like it had changed. Well apparently they bought the store nextdoor and expanded. Doubling the size of the store.

Was told yesterday was the opening day... Lucky me.

I got a small Valentini, currently working on the pods in the display fuge :) he has fin nip and is favoring one. But the fuge is low flow and has tons of food. So best case he recovers. Other case he lives there forever.

I finally got a pack of anthias and my single isn't single. 3 females 1 male now :)

I also got banana v2. The lid is never coming off. Still wanting to get an acrylic and net only version mine has the coated metal and it's starting to rust some.

15 min temp acclimated and dumped minus water.
