I have a fish only aquarium and I purchased a Fluval Marine 48 inch light bar (59 watts) it works pretty good and i like that I can control it via bluetooth.

Because it goes the full length I don't get any shimmer, and that is what I am after. Not sure if they are any mods I can do to it to improve the shimmer.
I was not sure if I could use the light bar with other lights and get shimmer, if I can't then I would sell my light bar.
I would also like to control a few channels to minimize algae growth.

I was gifted an Apex controller, so I might be able to use that for the light controls.
I did not want to spend a lot money because this is fish only, wanted to see what every one would recommend?
Ideally either with the APEX or the light controller it comes with I would like to do sunrise/sunset and a time
bonus would be dimmer with a pike output for 3 hours a day.

My thoughts are to use 3 30 watt leds but I don't know what brand to get and what will give the most shimmer.
budget is 150 - 250 dollars.

NICREW has a 30 watt and so other black box brands.

I will also have a bubble tip anemone in a couple of months

Kessils give nice shimmer, but that's probably not in your budget.
