A chiton?

just noticed it. Seems to be missing the segments on its shell. It’s a bluish/grayish color.

Scott, I'm not sure what that is, but it doesn't look like a chiton to me either and I've seen lots of them when I go snorkeling.

Grab it out while you see it and put it in a container with water so we can see it...

Appears to have the Chiton skirt, but agree, don't see the dorsal plate segments. Is it hard or soft? Does it move...fast or slow? If hard, could the dorsal plates be covered with algae?

I tried plucking it out and it fell into a crevice in the rock. It didn’t stick hard like a chiton would. Mystery on hold.

No algae on it. And it hasn’t moved in 2 hours. Not even a mm. I believe chitons are mostly night dwellers. I’m in Hong Kong and my lights still have an hour and a half left.
