Hi everyone,

It’s been a while since I put together the first version of the guide! I noticed a few people were having issues updating to the latest version of the AIPAI app (3.0.7), so I took a little time to review things and added a new chapter to the old guide. This new section includes steps on how to upgrade if you’re coming from version 2.3.26.

This process might apply to other updates as well, but it's the one I followed to successfully update my app.

Just a quick note—this guide is based on my personal experience using the AIPAI app on Android, so your experience might vary slightly depending on your setup.

Disclaimer: Please use the guide at your own discretion and risk.

As always, I hope it helps someone out there!

Here's the link to the original threat:

Here is the new version of the guide that includes a chapter for the upgrade and some minor fixes:

I accidentally added the same light twice within the app and can't figure out how to remove one of them?

Tried long pressing the device from Devices screen
Tried resetting the device

Update: Fixed it. From devices screen, click on the bottom right corner of the device. There's an option to "Remove Device" and change grouping.

Oh I was about to reply. In any case. If anyone has issues removing the device, just follow these steps

That should do the trick.

Thanks

I am also having issues with connecting this light. From the reading I have done it seems I may have a defective light.

When I turn the light on, the LEDs briefly illuminate, the fan comes on, then both go off. All 3 indicator lights on the top begin to flash. If I attempt a factory reset, nothing happens.

In the app, it prompts me to connect to the light's wifi network which i am able to do. When I then go back to the app to connect to my wifi network (2.4 named differently), it says scan failed and no networks are found.

I have tried tondirect connect, but gwt the attached error message.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Anyone here having issues updating it to 3.0.7 on android? Whenever I tried to update it through the app, an error message pops up saying "App not installed as package appears to be invalid". I tried downloading the app separately and tried to install it but it gives me an "You cant install the app on your device" message.

I really dont want to uninstall the app and reinstalling the updated version, and having to go through the painful process of pairing the lights and setting up the lighting schedule again

There are instructions for updating to 3.0.7 in the guide linked in the first post.

Basically, the update feature in the previous version is bugged, so you have to backup your data, uninstall old version, install new version, and restore your backup.

Have you followed the instructions in the guide? Holding the middle button on the light for 5 seconds should cause it to cycle through all the colors individually and then stay on with all colors while waiting for you to connect. Also, your 2.4g wifi SSID and password should not contain any special characters, just letters and numbers (upper and lower case are fine).

Whn I hold the middle button for 5, 10 or 15 seconds, nothing happens. The three buttons on top just continue blinking. This is why I think the unit is defective, nothing i do stops the blinking.

I will look into the ssid name. My network does say "2.4" in it.

The three buttons will continue to blink until it is connected to wifi, so that is normal, but you should get the colors to cycle by holding down the middle button. Sometimes I've had to do it a couple times to get it to register, but I imagine you've tried that.

Having 2.4 in the ssid should be fine.

From what I have read, the LEDs should be illuminated during setup. Mine neither cycle or stay illuminated. They turn on for 2 seconds, then off.

Appreciate the advice so far.

Question. I have three a8 pro blues. I previously had 3 a7 + and when I adjusted one all three would automatically have the same setting but with these if I link them and adjust one it will cause the other two to have a error or the settings will be incorrect causing me to have to reset the lights to fix. Any help appreciated. Thank you,
