Bigger, better?

125 gallon, 6ft. Current stock:

Two ocerllaris clowns
1 yellow wrasse
And one Tomini tang.

Can not rearrange rock work.

I've always added tangs in the past last, but the Tomini was a beautiful specimen and had to have it.

I don't want to add another tang and no other algae eating fish.

I know of the tricks to distract the tang, aside of rearranging the rock work. Trapping and relocation is an option, but not preferred.

So, I have room in the tank to make a very large box and could make it as long as the tank, if it would help curb the aggression of the tang.

What's your thoughts and experiences with adding fish after a tang and would a very large acclimation box help?

Thanks in advance.

A few lengths longer than the fish will suffice. You want the new fish to be comfortable, but you also want the existing fish to see the newcomer and observe how they will interact.

I agree with @eatbreakfast. I wouldn't make a huge box bc that isn't likely to have the desired effect (social confrontation). I personally have a box that is a DIY from a 2.5 gallon water jug from walmart. It's not huge, but it's enough room for the fish to move around a little and yet still something I can use a magnet to place on the front of the glass.

What's an 'acclamation' box? Is that where all your resident fish gather around the newcomer and applaud?
