Hello All! I’ve had my reef tank for about a year now, LPS and softy’s have does great, and the Montis do great in my tank as well, but for some reason acros hate my tank, I added a couple and they all died so I decided to go for the indestructible green slimmer. And for all those who say you can’t kill a green slimmer, see the picture below… does anyone have any suggestions, I would love love love to be able to grow acros in the tank. Ca is 400 Mg is 1260 alk is 9.

How do they die? Quickly, slowly? Do they turn white from one area that spreads? How they die will give us a clue. Also, did you test your lighting with a par tester, or using the manufacturers recomendation? How is the flow in the tank?

They die slowly, usually over 2-3 weeks before completely bleached. I did not test with par meter I have a prime and go off brs testing. And flow in tank is moderate to strong!

An AI prime? Putting out 300 par?

What’s your phosphate at?

Phosphates sit around .1, I keep them a little higher. And ya! If you watch the BRS video on the prime, 6 inches into the tank you can get 250-300 par.

I’d suspect the lighting. I have the Prime HD and get around 100 par with my meter. You should get ahold of a good par meter to see what’s really happening. Lights were my problem back when every single Acropora would die…
