So last week I walked to the store for some cigarettes at about 2am. When I got the the mini mart someone had dumped a truvu hexagon tank with stand and lid. The tank was a scratched pretty good like someone got sand on the cleaning pad. After I got my cigarettes I asked the clerk about it and he was mad someone dumped because he didn't know what to do with it and he said I could have it. I somehow carried home my wife was surprised to say the least. So I got the scratches out but while doing that I found some air bubbles in the top of the seam on one side. It does not leak water and someone did a sloppy job with some weld on 16 it looks like.

So I'm fairly confident it's probably fine as is but would to repair it as best I can. Any advice preferably as cheap as possible I just had my second kid and I already have all the extra equipment so I'm trying to not spend anything more then needed. I was thinking getting some weld on 16 and adding a small brace to the outside I have some extra 1/4" acrylic sheets I can cut.

Air bubbles not uncommon
You can’t really silicone it, but you can apply an acrylic rod to corner and use weldon to reinforce the corner
Leak test it with plain water and verify no leaks first

Is the weld-on 16 mess on the inside or outside?
If its inside then you prob will need to sand off some of one side of a square rod . Then the rod will fit flat against the 2 sides.
Or get some casting resin. Lay the tank so the seam is down and pour a bead. Make it thick enough to touch both sides. This will look a bit better.

Can you post a pic or two? Those guys do a good job and doubtful they would ship something that would end up leaking. Sounds like it is only cosmetic.

That will be an eventual point of failure as well as aesthetically unpleasant. Tilt the tank so that seam is flat and pour a bevel along that seam with Weldon 40.
