question I have is how many people remove their filter socks when they add LifeSource.

For me it runs through a filter roller I also believe it works as a flocculant as well.question I have is how many people remove their filter socks when they add LifeSource.
Sever with Aquaforrest said yes there is magnetic material in life source, however this magnetic material is natural and not toxic in any way for our inhabitants, and it will not damage any powerheads as the total hardness of this material is much less than what the material our powerheads are made out of.
so in reality it would be no different than slime caking on our powerheads
I just mix mine into a glass of RODI water and pour it into my 20 gallon with the skimmer off...it's cloudy for a little while but then crystal clear within a couple hours or so...it doesn't really seem to settle on the sand much at all either.Just got mine from BRS today. Been wanting to try it for a while now.
Spoke with the AF rep (Craig?) at Reefapalooza CA a few weeks back and he said he puts his in a tray in his sump. Not sure which method I am gong to go with.
Any updates?I was interested in AF Life Source since it first appeared on the market. Used it on/off for some time then kinda forgot about it. Then I bought another box and started adding it once a week (one spoon/cup which is included) and my corals looked very good. However, I wasn't sure it was to be attributed to AF Life Source.
I then stopped using it, again forgetting about it (nothing intentional, just forgot, it was in the back of my cupboard hidden somewhere). And the corals didn't look that good actually. I wouldn't say things went downhill but it just wasn't as good as it was.
I just started using it again to try to get back to the old glory days and to try to confirm that at least a part of the benefit is due to AF Life Source.
For me I noticed my corals would look really plump and swell , looking amazing even after a week of stability and dosing it. Cloudiness was worrying me at the beginning a few months ago when I first started using it , because the tank gets super super cloudy , like you can’t see anything cloudy….. but that only lasts for 2 hours max then when it starts to go away the corals always look amazing. It’s like they absorbed whatever was in the life sourceI placed mine in a container in my sump over a month ago and have not seen any noticeable difference in my tank.
I understand directions state to broadcast to display tank. Given discussion here about dosing to sump along will my conversation with the AF rep at Reefapalooza, I decided to take this approach.
