Just got my lights. Having trouble with the intensities and confused. What's the best intensities for each color and my sunset is from 6:30 to 7. After that I just have my purples and royal Blues on. Then at 9:00 the lunar cycle starts. Should I just start the lunar sucks as soon as the sun sets at 7 and leave it until 3 am or so ? Please help with the intensities and what I should set it to after the sunset. Thanks!

These settings came from another user on a different forum, but the numbers come from the Apex controller. For the Hydra 52s you can disregard blue, warm white and NW. I have found better colors with a higher Kelvin. My lights ramp up to 20k early in the morning then 18k at 50% by 11, up to 18k at 65% at 230 back to down to 50% at 7 then out by 930. You just multiply the corresponding number for each color by the percentage you want. i do not run UV above 35% though regardless.

PS I've never really understood the lunar cycle on the director. I seems like you need to have the blue at 5% at least for it to work properly, but it looks too bright to me. I'd like to hear them explained as well.
PPS I'd suggest using the coral acclimation feature when making big changes to your settings.

My Lunar Setting
Deep Blues set at 8% and run from 10pm to 3am.
Lunar Cycle reduces (never increases) intensities of all LED colors for the programmed hours of the day. It is a rough approximation of the 8 phases of the moon that occur throughout the month.
Intensities are reduced in 8 steps by multiplying the current intensity by a fractional number. The calculation is done every night at midnight, and one of the 8 multipliers are then applied to the current intensities based on which phase of the moon.

Waxing Crescent - .20
​First Quarter - ​.40
​Waxing Gibbous - ​.60
​Full Moon - ​1.0
​Waning Gibbous - ​.60
​Third Quarter - ​.40
​Waning Crescent - ​.20
As you can see, a full moon has no effect of intensities (multiplied by 1.0), so the nighttime intensities need to be set to the brightest, full moon level desired.
Take the example of setting ROYAL as your moonlight with an intensity setting of 5%. You would wind up with the following intensities:

This is very confusing lol so my lunar cycle starts at 9 in between 7 and 9 I have a very purplish look. And then when the lunar cycle starts it gets to a much dimmer purple from 7 to 9 what should my intensities be ?
So Tinpan your saying for my nighttime intensities the only led that should be on is my royal Blues at 5%? If you can tell me exactly what intensities your nite is set on when the sun sets and before the lunar cycle starts id appreciate it

The way I have mine set up is I have lights out at 930pm, at 10pm my deep blue (or royal blue) is set at 8%. They stay on until 3am. I have the "lunar" option selected. Once you turn that option on, the 8 multipliers become true. If you set your lunar led at 5% you will have a few days where you have no lights on, during the "new moon". I prefer to always have a little light on so I have mine set at 8%. That way during the new moon I will be at 1%.

If you don't like the purple color just turn the violet off at night and use only deep blue or royal blue. I use deep blue because I prefer it darker.

My sunset is from 630 to 7 so what %s do you have on until 930? and Ok so for the nite only have on my royal or deep blues at 8% and have the lunar cycle on. I do like the purple color so what % can I have my purple on for the lunar cycle to work ? Also what % UV do u have for nite and day. Thanks so much your a big help! If you can take a picture of your % intensities on your director that would help so much and I will follow your program.
