berghia nudibranch's but you will need to take out any predators like wrasses out of the tank. also, they tend to hide during the day and will need more nudibranchs than aiptasia since they work slow at first.

could always super glue their head/mouth shut, or use kalk paste to the same effect as aiptasiaX.

I was considering buying a handfull of nudibranch but at the same time i thought just getting them to starve them after aiptasia is gone i would feel kinda sour about them ...

I did superglue a few heads already but the most aiptasia i have are right between my zoa polyps

Kalkpaste sounds interessting tho imma do a quick read on that

that's basically what those aiptasia solutions are. lemon juice apparently works, too. but if they're within your zoa's i'd even suggest fragging the zoa and re growing the colony/frag before the aiptasia continues proliferating

i tried everything ... finally it came down to 2 things
1. Target scalding with boiling water, Use a squirt bottle with long ro line over the tip
2. Get a CBB . Took me 3 tries as the first 2 didn't make it.

I tried everything. Lemon juice, aip x, boiling water, kalk paste, super glue, epoxy, several hundred dollars in nudis. Nothing worked until I got peppermint shrimp from a friend in FL. He sells them and all he feeds them are aip.

All the aiptasia were gone in both my 180 and 65 in about 2 weeks

Just curious how many peppermints do you have in each tank?

When I had an explosion in my old tank, I got three peppermints and a small aptaisa eating filefish....Month later they were all gone and gave the filefish back to my LFS as it was getting big.

Berghia Nudibranch's only live ~10-12 months. I wouldn't feel too bad sending in a group of brave little sea slugs to battle your aiptasia as their final mission. If you have a lot of aiptasia they may even chow down, lay eggs, and live out their normal lifespan in the time they're in your tank. If you're spot treating aiptasia then there's a nonzero chance they released eggs and you have another round of food coming for your nudibranchs to eat. They'll also find their way to your sump to battle any aiptasia that propagated to places you can't see. They won't survive for long anyway if they sit at the LFS.

I don't want to sound cold about Nudibranchs specifically--every time we feed our tanks something had to die to create that food. It just is what it is.

I've had to use them twice and both times they worked wonders. Remember to turn your flow down and add them at night so they can hide in the rock work. Also, you'll have to rehome any fish that will eat them. I kept my flow down for the first few days or else I'd see them whizzing around the tank in the water column. If you drop them on your rockwork near the aiptasia you'll see them clear up that spot in a matter of days.

I got big XXL ones from Dr Reef's Quarentined Fish for the same price as most places offer the smaller ones. He doesn't quote a size but the ones I received were much bigger than even the XL ones I got from TSA. Both worked as advertised.

get a kleini Butterfly which will eat aptasia like candy, then eat all dry and frozen food offered, colorful, friendly and stays small. I will note that a couple of persons who got the blue had their kleini nip zoa. if so- easy sell, or place in sump as aptasia have likely made it down there already

I also went the peppermint shrimp route. I have a 65 gallon tank, added 3 shrimp. Seemed like nothing was happening for several weeks. About a month and half, later all aiptasia is gone. That was about 6 months ago, and the shrimp are still doing great. Glad I have them as they are a fun addition.

My 500 gallon tank had a bad outbreak of aptasia. Took about a month get rid of it. Since I had 100's of the little buggers, I had to take a multi-pronged approach. First I used F-aptasia or Aptasia X of everything I could that would not wipe out significant corals (where you apply and where it falls/drifts to). I include Zoa's because it was all in my Zoa's. The Zoa Colonies all came back a 2-4 weeks after treatment. I tried two Aptasia eating filefish, but they did not do much. Got a copperband butterfly and he was great. I also put in a bunch of (as large as I could find) berghia Nudibranch. Now my tank is Aphasia free, and my copperband is always working to keep it that way. Peppermint shrimp and the Nudi's do not always work out together.
Good luck

The peppermint shrimp cleaned up aiptasia for me. I saw 7-8 aiptasias, used Aiptasia X for a few aiptasias, and used epoxy glue for 2 before that. But then I added a peppermint shrimp. It disappeared. I saw it 3 days later. I thought something ate it. But after a day, aiptasia started disappearing one by one each night.
