Aiptasia or Anenome??

what is this thing? I found it on my chaeto that I bought from my lfs today. It is rainbowish Brown in color and very small. Any ideas??

consider taking it out & then into a container for a better pic.

If its a majano no, they are a pest anemone. they grow out of control and start to irritate corals.

Anemones can move so you cant really isolate it. Even if it dosent move when it clones itself, the clone will definitly move.

That last photo clearly shows a mojano anemone. They're pretty enough - especially the green ones like you've got - but they reproduce quickly, and wander your tank, stinging whatever they touch. They're perfectly capable of migrating from your sump, through your return and into your display. Likely that you'll wind up with them - or aiptasia - sooner or later ... but you may find that you'd have preferred later.
