I have a RO/DI unit that I acquired a while ago in a trade, and it stayed in my garage for a long time. While fighting my byropsis problem, I decided to put it into use, since it was larger and had more cartridges than the unit I was already using. Anyway, I ordered new cartridges and a new membrane from AirWaterIce.com, who manufactured the unit, and put it into service. Well, it began dripping from the start, and continued doing so for several months, making my wife angry with me since there was a continuous puddle on my counter in the laundry room.
It seemed that maybe the o-ring on one of the canisters was the culprit, so I wrote to airwaterice and asked how much o-rings were. They responded to me that they were sending me 4 o-rings without charge. (And without any input from me, they just sent them, having pulled my address from my previous order I suppose, since I did not give it to them.)
Well, I installed the new o-rings, but the thing still was dripping. So finally, Friday, I took apart the unit and discovered that there were some cracks in the canister caps where the pipe nipples threaded in, and that was where the leak was coming from. So I wrote to them again asking for a price for new caps, saying I needed 2. They wrote back and told me they were sending 4 at no charge.
I just think this went above and beyond , and wanted to share with you.
