Ordered a randalli gobie and a flameback angel for a new tank that has been up for about 3 months now. On Saturday the water was crystal clear, all testing came back within normal parameters and the two clowns in there were happy as can be. I decided to clean the sand for the first time as there was some dead chaeto that escaped the sump and a day later I noticed what looked like the start of a bacteria bloom. I came home from work today and it was evident that the bloom had exploded. Full blown cloudy water that you can actually see moving in the wave maker swirling around in the tank.
Due to the storm, the two fish arrived a day late, were acclimated and put in the tank but the long travel time and the bacteria bloom have them looking oxygen starved. Is there something I can do while the bloom is going on to give them an easier time of it or to help out oxygen wise until this subsides?
