I am thinking about adding some of the aliexpress light bars that seem popular right now to supplement my two kessil a160’s over my 40 breeder. For anyone that has experience with these , which configuration should I get them in (nm)? Thank you!

Check if the components are the same as described. Many of Chinese knock-offs is really good (I remember getting Chihiros lamps before it was 'trendy). So basically it might look fancy and good, but components used are not that nice and the light wave could vary from declared.

i've seen many configurations. but it all depends on what you currently run now, and look to get with the bars.

for example, do you run mainly white and want some blue? then getting the bars with some alternating blues would work to create a balanced color. or vice versa.

personally, i run a cyan-like color for my DT for personal viewing. i hate how the white makes everything look washed out (although i can appreciate the "TRUE" colors with the white spectrum), as well as how little i can see with just blue.

try 450-470nm? may be too blue, though.

i think that would work, i can always adjust the kessils to have more white if need be aswell.

I want to run a 5g QT tank for new zoas. Do you think having only these cheap lights would be suitable? My DT has real lights.

the shortest aliexpress led bar(only using the populargrow as that’s what has been widely used on this website) is 21 inches, i believe
