Alkalinity controller without reagent! Aquawiz

Has anyone had an issue where it shows the PH probe Health at 0? I got my aquawiz today and its showing PH probe Health at 0 but its a brand new probe. Not sure if it will measure in this state or not.

Ok in case anyone else has this happen after the first reading the PH probe health went to 100% and everything is working as expected.

it takes one hour for the new machine data to establish and show on the server. So this is normal.

The machine screen will say LF100 meaning the probe is at 100pct life a few minutes after initial startup. If it says zero, please unplug the ph probe and clean the connectors at the end of the ph probe and the mother board with a clean cloth and then connect again. If the problem persists, inmost cases its a bad ph probe and is covered under warranty.

No, you have Gen 4. It’s done automatically now and you don’t have to adjust the level at startup.
I had 2 gen 4's it certainly does not adjust the levels correctly/if at all - mine were all over the place and reqired constant adjustment. Was also advised by support to adjust them manually at A6.

I was told the complete opposite, was said it’s all done automatically now.

Yes, had numerous issues with them - the connection is extremely tempermental, bump the cable and it drops t 0, look at it wrong same thing.
The lines can get erased they are not permanent. As long as you keep the levels on both tubes the same it should be fine. this issue happens on the glass tubes and in new version we got plastic tubes and the lines don't get erased any more.
I had the gen 4 (x2) (blue windows), when it arrived the lines were already half scratched off - looks like the issue is not resolved.

Who knows - my contact was Gordon from Aquaqiz. From expereince it drifts all over the place and can happen within days and requires manual intervention. This behaviour was the same on both units.

I run 2 AquaWiz units for a few weeks now and the measurements are spot on with my Salifert. Measurement last night was:

AquaWiz shows 7.72
Hanna showed 8
Salifert said 7.7

Yes not aruging that the unit works for some - just wish it worked for me all the time, not hafl the time! I'd love to see your chart if you are willing to share.

no pressure can be applied on the ph cable it has to drop freely. This is just the nature of the ph probe connector, it is very sensitive,

The markings on the test tube may not always be drawn as a full line; it depends on how the acrylic manufacturer makes them. Sometimes it may just be a small mark, as it is only meant to remind users of the water level line.

You can adjust the height of the water in the test tubes at any time as long as the AquaWiz is on A6 of the cycle. You can then make sure that both test tube water levels are the same and above the air stone height.

I’ve just measured the height of the lines on my Gen 4 and from the bottom of the test tube to the line it’s about 2.3 to 2.4cm. I hope that helps.

Is this actually better than a alkatronic? For the price it looks diy and I'm scared to spend that kind of money. Alkatronic pro is only $600 right now.

It seems that Alkatronic still requires purchasing Powertronic and Dosetronic in order to have the same functions as ours. In addition, our advantage is that no consumables are needed, nor is complicated calibration required, making it much easier to use. At the same time, it can test every hour, which is very important for tanks with high consumption, as hourly testing and micro-dosing are crucial.

We have created a page dedicated to trouble shooting issues when there is a large difference between device reading and manual tests:
Aquawiz Trouble Shooting

1. First-Time Installation Situation Explanation • After the first installation, before performing the initial calibration, the displayed values are simulated readings because the device has not yet established a reference value. Solution • Perform the first calibration the day after installation. • After that, the readings will reflect actual measurements.

2. After Regular Use (Initial Calibration Completed) 1. Insufficient Calibration Frequency Cause • It is recommended to calibrate at least once per month. If more than a month passes without calibration, the error may gradually accumulate. Fix 1. Perform a new calibration immediately. 2. For the next two weeks, calibrate once per week. 3. Afterward, resume monthly calibration.

2. Abnormal Water Level or Bubbles in Stage A6 (Most Common Cause) Inspection Method • During the A6 stage, observe the test tubes to ensure: • Both left and right water levels are at the marked line. • Bubbles are consistent and sufficient. Common Issue • After 5–7 months of use, the air pump may become clogged with salt deposits, causing smaller or no bubbles. Experience Tip • If readings fluctuate by more than 2 dKH, it’s usually due to insufficient bubbles. Solution • Adjust the A6 water level. • Clean the air pump (recommended every 6 months; cleaning instructions available in other guides).

3. Calcium Carbonate Precipitation Cause • When water chemistry becomes unstable, calcium carbonate may form deposits inside the test tubes or water chamber, affecting measurement accuracy. How to Identify • Check if the tubes or water chamber have white sediment or if the water appears cloudy. Solution • Clean the test tubes and water chamber with citric acid solution (refer to other guides for detailed instructions).

4. Bucket Test — Check If the Device Is Working Properly When to Use • If the above methods don’t solve the issue, or to quickly verify the device’s condition. Test Procedure 1. Prepare a container with about 1 liter of aquarium seawater. 2. Place the KHA’s inlet tube into the container. 3. Let the machine run and test for 1 full day (no calibration needed). 4. Check the data fluctuation the next day. Interpretation • Stable readings → Device is functioning normally. • Large fluctuations → Usually related to A6 bubbles or water temperature. • Readings continuously increasing → Usually due to calcium carbonate buildup.

I just setup my aquawiz yesterday and the large box chamber only fills up about 2 inches of water. Not all the way to the line or float switch. Is this normal? I reached out to them on facebook yesterdayt and waiting to hear back.

No, it should fill to the line. You could just do it manually.
