After over 20 years of reef keeping, I thought I'd seen almost everything. Tonight I'm watching TV and suddenly hear a spraying sound. Run over to the tank and find a snail covering the return line, creating a spray out of the tank. Think putting your thumb over a garden hose. Being the kind reefkeeper I am, I covered the spray with my hand and gently prised him off with the other. I keep my returns close to the surface to avoid back-siphoning in a power failure, but I guess I need to put them a bit deeper.

Pretty sure he did it on purpose to remind me I haven't fed special foods in a while.

Yup those inverts can be dangerous. Nothing like watching a wave maker PH walking around on the back of my pesky sea urchin.
Makes you wonder though what would have happened had I not been sitting right there.
