No. Dad got it first and gave it to Mom. She has hospice 2x a week and Dad is in heart failure. He's decided not to take his meds. All because of the flu Dec. 18.

She's serious.OMG, are you serious?!? Or are you saying you will probably lose them one day because they refuse to get the flu shot?
Keep in mind that this disease is new and has spread very quickly and hasn’t “peaked” yet. The figures could be extremely high when it is finally done.I guess it's worse to die from a disease with a name instead of just flu

How this virus works is, it makes you sick like a typical flu. If it makes its way into your lungs before your immune system takes of it, it will attack the proteins in your lungs and basically you suffocate to death. One interesting (but not terribly surprising) thing about this Corona virus is that the mortality is almost all in people over 60. There have been zero deaths in the 9 and under age group. In 80+ people the mortality rate is something like 14%.
It will also be interesting to see what makes this Corona virus different from the ones that are one cause of the common cold.
If it follows other such Carona virus the spring and summer may be it's downfall.Keep in mind that this disease is new and has spread very quickly and hasn’t “peaked” yet. The figures could be extremely high when it is finally done.

Yeah, no. More misinformation downplaying what this could be. China would not, I mean NEVER, shut down entire cities over a simple flu virus. China simply doesn't care about human life. Think it through, use some actual brain power and connect ALL the dots!Reminder 16,000 people have died and 280,000 people have been hospitalized during the 2019-2020 flu season in the US
More than 140,000 world wide died of the measels, heck, even more people died in the US slipping in the tub than the corona virus has caused. The whole corona virus things is overblown. Is it serious, yes, if you are sick, stay home, if it is bad, see a doctor. No reason for the panic and how crazy the stock market has been. I cringe when I see the thousands I have lost on paper in the last week.
In all honesty, I am not afraid. And I do think it’s being overblown. What I’m afraid of, if someone catches it in my family, we have to be quarantined for 2 weeks. If we are suspected to have it but not confirmed, we have to stay home for 2 weeks and can’t leave. If you leave quarantine, it’s jail time and a huge fine.Yes they could. The moon could also crash into the earth. The sun could explode.
Many things could happen. I prefer to deal with what is happening.

2 people have caught it. OMG 2.
That's more fake news. Flu shots work for last year's flu strain, as in one of them, and more than likely NOT what is going around. The flu shot doesn't protect against pneumonia, which is usually what hatms people after getting the flu. Usually there are multiple strains of flu each year, flu shot works against a best guess of 1 of the previous year's flu. My uncle got the flu shot 1 time in his life, became hospitalized. He recovered and never had the flu shot again, never had the flu again. I've never had the flu shot, have not had the flu for 30 years, 3rd grade was the last time.Flu shots folks! I'm going to lose both of my parents as a result of the flu. My dad would have been right there with you on the fake cough though.
