So I have a watchman goby and pistol shrimp in my 75 gallon and added sand to the tank trying to avoid where they hang out. Turns out I got sand in their area. I lifted the rock where they hang out but didn't see either one of them and moved the sand from that area. I didn't see either of them but I'm pretty sure I see a whole. Can the goby dig out of sand? Or did I just kill my first fish. ... :(

you should see @Lasse 's video of his Wrasse "injecting" itself into the sand!

A sand dwelling fish like shrimp gobies should be able to fix that situation. Otherwise it should been extinct long time ago. A tropical storm - sand is moving everywhere as an example

That reminds me my watchman goby used to always dig under rocks and hide under them made me worry my rocks would fall.
@revhtree you maybe should explain Mattehew 7:26 even for reefers :)

Definitely applicable! I can honestly say that I never viewed that concept from the perspective of a reef keeper!

For what it’s worth, I totally understand your worry. My husband tells me I’m crazy because I worry if I can’t see all my hermit crabs and make him help me count them. The vast majority of the time, 1 is missing but always turns up hahaha

I’m with you, but I have to count on my own. I am imagining my wife’s face if I said “ can you help me count? And let me know how many blue, how many red.”

Freak out your husband and stick 25 blue leg in there.
