My Geo 818 is finally in transit! Can't wait to get it and hook it up. The current tunze is struggling to keep up so this is much needed! This weekend I'll be finishing up the frag tank and getting it wet as well.

I just gotta hang in there...

Finally set up the frag tank this weekend! In total, and to my surprise, it added 40g water volume to the system. Making the entire setup 270 gallons of true water volume. But I suppose if I was in a measuring contest I would count the DT as 230, sump as 75 and frag tank as 40... so really I have 345g ;Hilarious

Anyways the frag systems name is Chip due to a surface air bubble in the front pane. Looking forward to filling this tank up with frags!

Tiny surface air bubble in the front pane. I filled it with some super glue to give myself peace of mind. I'll let you guys know when it blows out.

Tank is plumbed directly into my manifold - so no extra return pump!

I have the light on 20% blue and 1% white. Getting around 300-350 par on the rack. Super strong lights, I put the blues at 100% just to see and was getting 1200 par. The plan was to mount this higher but I didn't account for the 20 feet of light cable.

Moonshiners problems... your calcium reactor only lasts 6 months before you need to upgrade! Below is a shot that shows how much media the old reactor held compared to the new Geo 818!

On another note - I noticed my Fritz glass cleaner isn't very good, leaves a bunch of streaks no matter which method I use to apply it and I always use a microfiber cloth. It was suggested I use Novus 1 and it works much better along with some microfiber sponges which are just easier to hold and use than a cloth IMO. Can't wait to get out of Texas! Tank got dangerous close to crashing. Power went out 2am Monday. By Tuesday morning the tank temperature was at 67.5 degrees and the water to the house was off... so I knew I no longer had a method to keep the tank warm... then a local reefer spontaneously stopped by and loaned me his generator! Amazing gesture and saved my system. In total we were without power for 55 out of 60 hours. Tons of lessons learned from this and unfortunately many in Houston are suffering right now and its extremely sad to see. I am truly lucky I've experienced no losses thus far... hoping that holds true with time.

We're about a week later and everything is miraculously looking okay, only two pieces have experiences any STN and it seems to have potentially stopped before killing the whole coral. It is pretty crazy that everything has made it and I'm very fortunate! I'll be shooting an update this weekend.

Needed to see those images on the forum here - overall better quality but still not super sharp. Just got the Canon 90D so it'll take some learning. I'm only using the standard 18-55mm kit lens which I wish I went with the higher 18-135mm zoom. 4k video looks sharp but I want to be able to get super close up without swapping lens. No sub for a macro lens though - that'll be a future purchase.
