Hey everyone,

I got myself a beautiful 25G Innovative Marine Lagoon. I've always loved the look of these low profile tanks. I will say I wish the silicone seams were like my waterbox where the silicone is just in between the glass. Imo it looks a little nicer that way and now I have to be more careful when scraping the glass to avoid touching the silicone. I also noticed a couple tiny scratches on the glass, not sure if they came on there or it happened from moving the tank onto the stand. But it's not something I plan to complain to IM about.

Sunday around noon I picked up some rocks and built a scape (really happy about the way it came out btw). By 4-5 PM I finally got her wet.

The plan is an SPS dominant tank. Which will be a journey for me since it's my first time keeping SPS, aside from a couple easy frags.

Just wanted to share with you guys, thanks for looking!

heck yeah! I have been looking at those tanks for years.
I am ( at some point) finishing out my basement and was dreaming of 3 of these tanks.
1 for softies
1 SPS
1 for nems or meats. prob. meats.

what stand did you use?

That would be awesome! I wish I had a basement, if probably do the same

The stand I made out of 2x4 and plywood from HD. Next tank I'll probably look into getting something custom made. Building this stand turned out to be a nightmare. For what I spent money and time wise I could have got something much nicer custom made for a bit more $.

I agree I have built a few stands over the years. they came out OK but nothing great.

Just wanted to share where the tank is currently at. I started adding lots of acros a couple months ago. Lost one of two frags, but so far everything else is hanging in there. Not a whole lot of growth yet, I think it’s due to changes I’ve been making to lights. But now I have the lights where I want them so things should start settling in nicely

Looking excellent. Did I miss the part about lighting and flow equipment? It's entirely possible BTW.

Thank you!

I started off running 2 AI prime 16 HD. I didn’t feel like they were up to par, so I decided to upgrade the lights. I purchased a brand new reefi uno 2.1. So far very pleased with this light.

For wave makers I’m using 2 hygger 1600 GPH. I plan on adding maybe one or two more wavemakers in the near future.

Thank you!!

I have the Hygger wavemaker on my IM 25 Lagoon. I love that lighting, still need lighting.

Your stand is awesome.

Much appreciated :)

That wave maker is perfect for this size tank. High GPH but flow spread is wide so it doesn’t blast your corals. I want to add some more flow because I find a lot of sediment/detritus gets stuck in the substrate. I used crushed coral as substrate so it’s really easy to get gunk stuck down there. Hopefully increasing flow will help keep the crap suspended and eventually make it into the overflow.

& yes the light is great I would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for something really REALLY strong.
