This right here for me. Why announce it? Thats about as simple as it gets. And let’s not complicate it because we know companies do this to draw people in to purchase other things related to what is going to be releases. Works in the retail electronic world long enough to understand how announcements work. Get the hype going and many will purchase hydros just for the idea on what can and possibly might be. Then fails to deliver. Not good business practice. I will say Ray the Trident system sure is working just fine for me. It works for basic number of steady parameters. F I need fine tune I just do a icp test, or use my Hanna if needed from time to time.

Not about hydros having bad products that are on the market already, but rather shady business practice.
It’s super shady how they announced it and then it’s been crickets since. A tactic to get people to stay or purchase hydros. I was fully ready to switch from apex to hydros to try it. I’ve seen the interface and it’s so much nicer. But at this point I feel as I’ve lost hope for such a good product. I bit the bullet and bought a second trident in the meantime. Sucks because my money could have gone to them and i know a lot of other people who are in that same boat.

Just wish we would get some glimpse or hope it would come out. Silence is never a good thing on a product.

Oh wow! I’ll have to watch it when I get better service. Apparently the country clerk and recorder is truly a dead zone with service.

If that’s the case it worked for me. I have an apex on two of my tanks. The smaller Nano’s use Hydros. The only reason I got the apex was for testing with the trident because Hydros didn’t have one yet. I much prefer the ease and flexibility of Hydros over Apex. I keep hoping but the last update from them was about a year ago.

Interesting. Not many people prefer the Hydros interface over Apex. The Hydros interface is actually pretty atrocious. Limited data displayed, hard to use graphs and logging, and cant fine tune as much as the Apex.

I think it’s just a user preference thing. There’s plenty of threads on here where people have seen or tried both and prefer Hydros over Apex. Personally, I would call the Apex interface atrocious. It is not as intuitive as Hydros, IMHO. And some basic things a user might want to do are often buried under multiple clicks or submenus.

But that isn't true. I have both and run both. Apex you can open one simple window and type out EXACTLY what you want it to do. Hydros you can't do that.

Hydros is more robust.

Apex can be more finely tuned and customized.

There is usually a task / wizard or advanced, they make it pretty simple. And even if you don't like the UI you can grab the data and export it to a db and present it however one wants. I use Grafana and tested with HA (Home Assistant).

They all have warts though.
