I started a new box this weekend. This one will combine Cherry and Maple. I got another 50 note movement on sale. This will be a "house" box just to decorate some furniture. Brusso hardware and a lockset of course. Hopefully get this done in a couple of weeks. I glued it up last night. I used almost every tool in the shop - bandsaw, jointer, planer, router and table saw.

Last minute I switched tops. This is the old top. It just had a slight wobble that always would have bothered me. Too bad I don't think I can use this for anything!

You simply cannot beat those for price to value. I got 2 for I think under $140 each. Solid as a rock. Drawers are a little flimsy but no biggie.

Almost done I applied the finish today. 1 more coat and it's done. Using boiled linseed oil on this one. It looks really good and so easy to apply. What's not to like?

Here's a quick birdseye handle I carved out in 10 minutes. Easy Peasy! Note all my index marks for the lockset, escutcheon and handle.

With all the DIY and custom stands on here I figured a few if not a lot of you enjoy woodworking. When I have the time I like to make things. Built this today. A shelf for my bedroom.

I'm trying a finish to look like aged barn wood on it. Never done it before but I like the look and it was easy to do. I figure if I don't like it I can just paint over it. It will darken as it dries.

I would love to see some project you guys have done and maybe some ideas for future projects.

Dude, I love that. Reminds me of packing crates of an old flatbed truck. That is sweet. The stand I am making is nothing special, just something I can have flexibility with the sump, and big enough if I ever decide to go a little larger.

Nicely done, I have a heart shape box I carved out of a block of purple heart, and a 30 note sanyo( what a wonderful world)Ive been working on, it's been quite the learning experience from movements to hinges and small hardware that gives me a great appreciation for those skilled in this area

Wow man awesome!!! How much to ship one up to me in Jersey from Florida.

My sister in-law and her husband have a trucking company;)

The big dilemma today was, I only have one wide board and can only get 3 drawer front out of it. The 4 th would have a seam or have 4 fronts with a seam. I decided to wait till Monday and source another wide to have 4 sold drawer fronts.
