@gig 'em that bar top is awesome, I like how you got the epoxy glaze to be perfect with no microbubbles. I've tried that when making boxes and know its not as easy as you'd think! :)
Thank you! Yes, the micro bubbles were my biggest fear and luckily I didn't have any. The only regret I had is going back to add a little more epoxy on the side of the bar I started on. By the time I poured more epoxy on, the original layer had started to solidify. Needless to say that side is not perfectly flat, it has a little ripple to it. No one notices but me I'm sure, but I'll always be aware of it's presence! ;Sour

I noticed and it ruined my day. I just can't drink a beer on that bud... Such a shame too. [emoji12]

It looks amazing in person!

My new stand for my new 125 gallon tank for my new house. It is built out of redwood which doesn't warp and it takes water well. The thing is bolted together with 3/8" hot dipped galvanized American carriage bolts and nuts.
It will be behind a wall so it doesn't look like furniture and I built it simple because I didn't want two pieces of wood together where water will seep into.

The top rails are set back into the 4 X 4" legs 3/4" for strength so the bolts are only there to hold the top rails into the set back.

This live edge 8' shelf was made out of a 100 year old oak tree slab I found in Vermont in a barn sale. I asked the guy how much he wanted for it and he said, "Well, I got to get at least three for that. I was going to try to talk him down to $250.00 until I found out he meant $3.00.

There are no visible brackets holding it up. It also has that poured on glass like finish on it.

Just put a coat of oil on this slab I did an epoxy fill on. Was my first time trying and I think it went ok. I think on my next one I will put a coat of poly or similar on the inside of what will be filled to avoid trapped air making its way out of the wood and into the epoxy. The slab is spalted maple finished with an orange oil.

Also finished up this “floating shelf”, I just need do build the frame on the wall to slide it over. I found a great local source for old barn wood. This is old cypress from a barn in Pennsylvania.

You're lucky Kevin...we have no old barns in SW Florida, thus no source for old barn wood. Still trying to figure out how to utilize old palm trees!!!!!!!

Definitely!! Especially since the guy I’m getting it from is reasonable with pricing unlike most. Lol I’m sure you’ll figure out something with the palms.
