I said this because eventually there's will be hardly any algae and all 70 snails will parish with a big nitrate spike

Like others, I was not understanding what an algae tablet is. You mean a food tablet made mostly of algae? I was thinking you meant a tablet to kill algae.

I use a combo of algae tabs and nori to supplement my CUC. When the algae starts to come back, I remove the nori and let them chow down on the algae in the tank. Otherwise all my hermits just hang out on the nori and ignore the rest of the tank.

I
Not sure why one would put them in a tank that is described as " just normal, green algae on my rock ". :0
used to, when I first started my tank and got some Nass's, thats how I would feed them if there wasn't enough poop or left over food for them, then around 3 weeks later, my dog ate them

Okay?

If it’s hair algae and too long, very few snails or any other CUC will ever touch it. Thus, the problem is never fixed.

But cool story
Your statement of algae being controlled by herbivore is true to an extent but in this situation he has 40+ snails and hermits in an 11g tank and it is possibly contributing to the problem. He also states his algae isn’t long and he doesn’t have hair algae

I’m just throwing out from experience that sometimes less does more and we shouldn’t be advising to add on to this already large group of snails and hermits

There's nothing wrong with algae additions as foods, but if the rocks have green algae on them still, is it needed?
as I stated before, I dont use them, I stopped using them before any algae appeared
but, good question, I would say yes and no, I only have green algae(well, most algae is green, or sterotipicly)and no hair algae, so, I guess thats up to all of you?

Your dog ate your nassarius or your algae food?
