Here is the best process for using API test kits.

Step 1. Walk to trash can

Step 2. Throw it in the trash.

Ok, I’m just messing with you. LOL

Seriously tho, look on Matketplace for a Hannah Phosphate ULR checker. They are great.

Ik they are, but they are too dang expensive for me
I can’t spend $60 on something I will not use much
But seriously, is this 1 or 2 ppm?

For my eyes, that is a 1.5. Problem with API tests is that they are subjective to color interpretation. Hannah is unbiased as long as you follow the instructions.
If it’s a 1.5
No wonder so much algae
But, I’m over here with miyagi torts? Wouldn’t 1.5 kill them?

I wouldn’t make any decisions based on an API phosphate test.

Algae isn’t controlled by lowering phosphates anyway. Algae is from a lack of herbivores. Get more algae eaters and it will go away.

I’ve been seeing bad reviews on that though
Way to many people using the salufert to be a bad system. It's acute enough to keep you in the ball park and you will know if you're at.00, .03 or .1 and definitely know if you are at .2. that is all you need.
