Glad to see it arrived! Everyone has different needs so it takes a few attempts to see what works best for your tank! I kept the sock (I wish there was a felt version in that size) and put like 3 layers of filter floss in the top. Just watch the return pump chamber if you have your heater in there to make sure your water level is where you want it. (My tank needed to be topped off and with a mightyjet DC pump it set my low water alarm on the heater off.) Cleaned eeverythung and added water and it was back up

I have considered making one for the 24g version. I need to do some investigation on sizing and see if i can shrink it down or if that breaks things. are you able to measure the opening?

Thanks @Neffly4u !! Got mine last week... it looks and works great. I’m currently using floss , purigen, more floss in the chambers, but will switch to the nano sock eventually.

I can’t believe how much gunk the floss is capturing vs my previous setup. It must have been flowing around my previous basket. Not anymore!

I definitely recommend this upgrade for Recife 40 owners!

Hello!

New to reefing and picked myself up a Aquatop Recife 40 AIO. Upon doing some research I realized people recommend ditching the included sponge filter and replacing it with Filter floss and some Matrix or Chemipure Blue. Should be easy right? just head on over to InTankAquatics and....oh wait they don't have one.

Well until anything changes i'm going to make my own. I figure it will be similar to what intank offers.

I figure it will include 3 media trays and will be made out of acrylic and will be sourced out and laser cut.

Would Aquatop owners be interested in a media basket?

or if theres another option out there let me know
