I recently picked up a used Aquatronica 140 touch screen delux. All the probes seem to function normally after a good cleaning and recalibration. The only hitch is the temp probe, it fluctuates every few seconds triggering the heater plug on and off constantly. Controllers are completely new to me, I’m wondering what are decent replacement probes and where to source them.

Any comments suggestions are appreciated.

TIA
HBR

Does the temp sensor wire run adjacent to any power cords or bricks? Electrical interference will cause jumps in the sensor reading.

Yes it does. I’ll move it around when I get home this evening and see if that helps, thank you for the tip.

There is a setting in the program, I think labeled hysteria? Set it for a minute or more before triggering an action. My heater used to do the same thing.
So lets say the temp is 77.0, when it hits 76.5 or whatever you set low temp at, for more than a minute, heater will be turned on/off. I don't have the system anymore.

I also had a wire inside the power bar come loose and burn the back side of the outlet. I replaced the wire and tightened all the others. You may want to check the power bar.
Overall it worked decent once you get thru the quirks.

Thanks for the help folks.

The wires were rerouted to be completely away from any others last night, that didn’t solve the issue.
Tonight I set the timer for 2minutes between actions, that seems to have done the trick. At the very least it’s only cycling on/off 15 times an hour instead of 30times a minute. I’ll watch it and see how that works out for the next couple of days and possibly make a few more adjustments.

For anyone with similar problems the setting we are talking about is the “time filter”. It comes up on the screen where you set main temperature and istersi. It will set the switch to stay on or off for however long you set the time for, after that timer expires it will take an input from the sensor and either leave the switch as is or change it to the opposite position. Hopefully that makes sense.

Thanks again.
