Sometimes though, I get these small blisters in between my fingers. (itchy)

It never use to be like that when I was younger. (don't ever get old) GL.

My question today is simple... Reefing truly is a rollercoaster with its ups and downs. How are you feeling about reefing right now?

When I finally completed the system build and the aquarium became aged and mature, it became a lot more fun. During the first year there were times it was not at all fun, and I thought about giving up, but now I am glad I persevered.

I am enjoying my reefing. I am in that process when your new setup is running and you can see your fish, corals and other inverts living well but there are still things to tinker with to get your system fully stable. The big purchases are done, now it is just fine tuning for a few months till everything gets settled in.

I have been in this hobby for roughly 13 years and today I sat in my recliner next to the tank just so I could watch it for a while. I don’t know that “fun” is the right description for me, but it is rewarding when all goes well. It can be frustrating when equipment fails or something dies, but to me this hobby is like a giant puzzle with lots of moving parts. Solving the puzzle is rewarding even though I know that tomorrow something might go wrong.

I wouldn’t call the day to day reefing always “fun”, but getting out to see other Reefers in public is fun to me. I can’t eat the livestock, and no one else in my household enjoys the tanks. So just having them without sharing seems like a waste to me. So much perspective can be gained by talking about reefing with other people.
Yeah I have this same issue. Since having kids I don't have a lot of friends anymore and the ones I do have aren't interested in it. The forums tend to devolve into arguments and I've really struggled to find good conversations about the topic. Reading 2 year old Reddit posts or r2r posts is about it

I voted yes. I've only been doing it not quite two years. Started with a 15, now have 32, and waiting on a 50 gallon. That's the biggest I can get. It's a softy tank so it's not really that hard. It's fun to see people's reaction when I tell them I have a saltwater tank. Lol

I voted no. My nano had a huge Alk swing and everything has been peeved in my tank for a couple weeks now and I still don’t see any improvement. All LPS look like they’re just waiting for an excuse to die.

Debating on doing an in-tank Cipro treatment as a Hail Mary.

Because of all the posts that I have read I carefully built my modest set up , and am happy with the results. Just me but instead of automating my second and my own build, I want to start a third. I am now at the end of the road with my build. I will post pictures sometime but I don't know if anyone is really interested

Ive had so many ups and downs over the years but this year things have been going really good. Im enjoying the hobby again

It's a process. I feel where you are are at. If you start up a tank journal and link it, we can help you get back on track.

I have decided to make my reefing fun again. There’s still a lot I can do to improve, and I am getting to work on that.
