Im not an engineer but I can tell you the design is light and strong. Very light. For a small tank this might not be an issue, but once over 36" or so and these lids become heavy. I have 2 of the Picses EXO.

Bad experience with this company as well.
I think their product is great and looks awesome and for the price it should.
However, they cut my lid smaller than measurements I provided to them. I made the mistake of approving the dimensions without double checking their work. I admitted my mistake and they took no responsibility for their error.
From the companies letter....."we admittedly do make mistakes from time to time" They sure didn't admit their error with my order. I was offered full price to correct the mistake.
