Hello reefers , 3 weeks ago I replaced my ATI power module hybrid 8×54w T5 + 3×65w LED's with ATI power module 10×54w T5 (ONLY T5 ,NO LED'S) .
my tank is 140 cm long , 70 cm wide , 55 cm high . water level is at 51 cm .
Bulbs combination:
5 blur plus
1 aquablue special
1 actinic
3 coral plus

all bulbs are ATI bulbs.
I did PAR test ,at sandbad it's 250 , and top of the rocks it's 550 .

Since I replaced the fixture ,it seems that the lightning is too powerful for the corals.
I raised the fixture to 22 cm above water surface , and the polyp extention is still not so good. also some corals loose their color.
i saw few tanks that this fixture (ATI) was hanged 10 to 15 cm xbove the water and corals responded well.
what am I doing wrong here ?
here some pics from yesterday
Their color was much stronger !

Corals look good. I would reduce leds to 50% and ramp up slowly.
The T5's will handle the power and you can use the leds to supplement. That is assuming you can adjust the intensity. You could also reduce the time the leds are on for at peak or like you said raise them up.

Sorry I miss read that. I ran an 8 bulb ati on my 120 and it was 4" off the surface. It is most likely the corals responding to no leds. It will just take time to adjust.
Raising it like you did and waiting for them to adjust cant hurt.

4 b+ 4 c+ in an old ati 6 bulb unit and a 2 bulb fixture.I ran it from day one for 1 year then put up my halides. They will grow anything quite well.
Tank was mostly acros. Build thread has the journey.

wow that's nice tank !
I sold my ATI power module hybrid because I didn't like the LED clusters , they wereway too powerful for me (and for my corals) , and bought ATI power module 10×54w and added 2 kessil 360x...I'm very happy with it !
