Ati powermodule for 72” tank

What would work better?

Two 36” powermodule
One 60” powermodule

The two would be $800 more, but I want to make sure light isn’t any issue (I can get any coral I would like and not have to worry about par or coverage ).

I will be setting up a 6 foot tank and will be running a 60” 8 bulb sunpower and I’m not worried about the coverage at all. If you think about it it’s only 6” on each end of fixture. If anything you could add a led light strip if wanted but I think the fixture would be plenty.

Thanks. That was my assumption, but I wanted to make sure before I dropped the $$.

I also thought about buying two fixtures as well but I did some research and thought about it one will be fine! You are very welcome!

I would get the 60" leaving 6" on each side isn't that bad at all. Make sure you get as many bulbs you can to cover the width of the tank!
Getting the 60" fixture you will spend almost half of the price of 2 X 36" to change bulbs as well.

I run a 6 bulb 60" Sun Power on a 6 ft. 180 planted freshwater tank, and the 6-8" on the ends are definitely dimmer than the rest of the tank and affect what I can grow there. I doubt you will be able to place any coral you wish in that area of the tank unless you go with two 36" units.

I have a 4ft powermodule on a 72" tank and don't visually notice dimness towards the ends. It's nice to have some lower light areas towards the ends for less light demanding corals. I'd go with one fixture. It will be way cheaper on bulb replacements and plenty of light.

Im putting the same fixture over my 72” tank. Not worried at all. I would do one fixture for sure.

I should add that I run my light very close to the water (about 4"). I am sure raising it up would help the light on the ends. I would agree with others that I would go with a single 60" unit for cost reasons and learn to live with whatever light you have on the ends.
