This is my old 80gal deep blue tank that was lit with a six bulb power module and two reefbrites. It's was more than enough light even with the fixture around 18 inches over the tank par was from 350-500+. I ran two coral+ and four blue+. I liked it so much I'm setting up a new system with the same setup. All coral in the pic started as frags.

Hey TopSide? But do the two XHO strips on your 6-bulb ATI provide SHIMMER? Or are they still drowned out? You could save me a lot of money with this question, for I am mainly looking for SHIMMER and already have enough light from the ATI..... please let me know?

Drowned out , but there’s a slight hint and shimmer , I do prefer t5 with the led look though compared with just t5

Yea there's not much SHIMMER. Since that post in 2015 I now have 4 xho on my ATI fixture, it's a blanked strip just like a t5 bulb.

You can probably find some single diode strips like the sb reef light which I would assume would provide a bit of SHIMMER. You could also buy the ATI power module. The leds in the fixture SHIMMER like a halide.

oh when you mentioned the ATI power module's LEDs, did you mean the ATI Hybrid fixture? the really pricey one? I wondered if their built in LED's in the middle show some shimmer?

Yes the really pricey one. The led inside provide close to that kessil shimmer since it's 3 powerful compact slots where the few diodes sit. Looks really really nice when the led are just on.

Where can you find these in 48” They seem non-existent online to purchase. Been looking for one for awhile
