Got some 4 month growth pics on my Echinata frag. It took a while, but it is really starting to take off!

REALLY nice. From the pics, it looks like the awesome colors of the ORA Pearlberry but in echinata form - and that would be a nice combo IMO. Nice pickup!

That is a very nice piece. Love the white and hing of purple color on it. I also brought a piece but somehow my turn brown and i haven't seen it color up yet. What kind of system you have it in? Do you use zeo, or dose vodka, etc..?

Thanks, all. That piece is in my frag tank under pretty low lighting. (20K- 150w radium) No zeo, but I do dose the Instant Ocean Nitrate Reducer for the past 2 months, but really I think this one just does best in lower lighting.

Very nice Tony. Looks like you are getting good growth. I think it would be a lower light coral as well.

Yeah, that's what i thought too. I have it on the lower part of the tank.. Were it this color when you got it? Or it slowly took a couple of months to gain the white and light purple/blue tint on it? Does it get alot of flow?

Thanks, Fonda!

ctx- It was that color when i got it, never lost color at all. The new growth, though, has even brighter colors than the original frag. Flow-wise, i would say moderate to low flow.

I have this close to a frag of the Icefire and honestly, i think I am starting to like this one better.

I think we have the same Aussie echinata and you're absolutely right about the coral preferring lower lights. Mine started to bleach after a couple weeks as it was placed high and I lowered it. It has now regained back all the color after placing it lower.

Great looking Ech. I have had the opposite need for mine though. I started mine with lower light levels only to lose some color. I then centered it directly under my 10K mh and it brought the bright whites and blues back. Its still really not that high in the tank though. I would say the base is a little above the halfway mark in my tank and the tip of the Ech is around 12-14 inches from the bulb itself.
