I would definitely try and hatch some and gut load them with phyto before feeding. Problay kill the shrimp first but feed it fresh.

Just info, my gigs don’t get any food other than fish poo. I fed a couple of them a few days ago and they all rejected and released the small scallop pieces. They must have forgotten what food is lol. But they do get blasted with light. My temp is totally volatile, mornings can be 81, and if I forget to turn on the ac it’s up to 86 late afternoon, but cools back to 83 in about 2 hours. KH was 10 last week, but yesterday was 7. This tank is anything but stable. A month ago calcium was 360-380. Turned up the dose and few days ago was 460+

Lights have built in moonlight, adjustable to intensity too. Fans are broken though, this tank is a day away from crashing! It’s a total hillbilly setup compared to what I used to have.

No i didn’t get those. I have frozen scallops in the freezer that I use a razor blade to slice a tiny piece, suck into airline, and drop on top.

Taylor t Gigantea looks very much like the smallest one there in the L lower corner picture.
Where did you get these pictures. Any reading or information that come with them?

That's a misidentification. I've patrolled multiple inshore flats in Indonesia and seen hundreds carpets from the genus Stichodactyla. There is a clear difference in tentacles of Tapetum, and juveniles from the other species. The top is image is without a doubt Gigantea juvenile. The bottom two could ultimately end up being Giantea or Haddoni, hard to tell at that size, but I'd bet on Gigs as well.

Images are from a Flickr user, forgot the name. I've had those pics saved from years ago for comparison when I was viewing juveniles in the wild.

This is really cool. Gives me hope for future propagation of this amazing species. I have 4 gigs in one tank and haven't seen anything like this yet, although mine are smaller and likely much younger than yours. I'm sure they have to reach a certain age to be able to breed.

I do have to say though that the baby pictured above looks a lot like the ball anemones I have in my DT, they have the redish foot and even fluoresce slightly when exposed to actinics. Personally I immediately wrote it off as that when I first saw those pictures, but you have actual eyes on your tank so you have better judgement than I do.

I hope you can find a way to improve survival of the babies. If they can survive in the wild, there must be a way to do it in captivity!

Heres today. It’s foot is noticeably larger.
The foot alone is 1/2” now. It’s not inflated disk as much today though. I fed half size grain today. Eats like a champ.

If you look close, there’s an area where varecue is. It’s a lighter ring of purple you can see the color difference, that’s where. Very light color and small spots. The camera doesn’t pick up the spots but they are there.

Ball anemone I s translucent white devoid of color. Non photosynthetic and only open at night. The tip of ball anemones look somewhat like your baby Gig but your anemone is clearly not a ball anemone. From the Net. Not my pictures

When I get back home I'll try and find one of mine and see if they have similar markings. I sure hope it's not a ball anemone, but I'm cautiously pessimistic in my personality
