Looking great! Excited to follow along!

Thanks Zack. This has been a slow build but its getting there.

I have 2 fairy wrasses in QT at the moment. Isosceles (Pintail) and Brunneus. Getting a Red Sea Sail Fin, female meleagris leopard, and a transitioning blue star leopard this weekend.

The tangs are less timid every day. Feed us! Im going to let the tank go through the uglies before I add any coral. I need to get a large clean up crew soon.

One thing on the clean up crew has a fellow member going through the ugly phase - resist the urge to buy a clean up package that they say is for 300 gallons. Heck, resist the urge for half that size. Buy enough on the smaller side so they can do their work and live when they are done. I have a 210 gallon right now that is going through a heavy diatom bloom. I moved over some snails from my 40 breeder that I moved and they started in. However, it wasn't enough. Looking at the various packages they are all including a zillion snails, crabs, etc. Stuff I don't want or need. So I just ordered a dozen of one, 6 of another, and when it was all said and done added a mix of about 40 snails. They are doing very well, probably slower, but nothing is food fodder for the few hermits I do have and alive and well.

Anyway other than that - nice setup and thanks for sharing :)

I finally made a skimmer stand out of acrylic. Scrap from Paragon Plastics... 1 inch rod and some weld on. The Aquamaxx CO5 is pulling some tea colored skimmate atm. So far so good. The skimmer is fairly quiet considering the size.

So did you add sand for wrasses? Or just because you wanted to.
I like the sand ! More natural appearance.
In his case you can nicely compare the tank, bare bottom vs. shallow sand.

I will add the sand as well to my tank after the last move ;-)

Very nice progress!
Thanks Andre. Slowly but surely.

Both. I was going to do a container with sand but it would just end up out of the container anyways over time and Id have to siphon it. Mainly though the look... I jad a lot of time to stare at the barebottom tank and finally decided against it.

Yeah I think so as well. I also removed some rock that was bothering me. Ill prob make a few tweaks the the rockscape as I go.
Great Start...You have one of the nicest custom tanks i've seen.. looking forward to the progress
Thanks Ashish.

I removed a few pieces of rock on the left side. Created a small island in front instead of connecting it with the main rockwork. Ill be making more tweaks as I go.

By the way, noticed you run the same light as I do.
What bulb combo do you run?

I just received my new lamps a few days ago, I need to pull the fixture off to install. Hopefully this week.

I went with- 6 x ATI Blue Plus 1 x ATI Purple Plus and 1 x Giesseman Aqua Blue Azure.

The diatoms are going away. I also added yeast but can’t really confirm if that’s helped or simply just time. Anyways it’s clearing up.
