Beginner ozone advice

Hi guys, I'd like to get some beginner guide on ozone. Read some decent benefits but also that it's difficult to use/control. I understand I need to run it through a skimmer but not all will run it but I'm not sure why?

Anyone out there run it and pretty competent at it? If so can you tell me what I need to start from scratch? Benefits, pit falls etc?
