Ides for clean up crew in a 10 gallon reef tank

I like a CUC on the smaller side as opposed to 10,000 snails crammed in a tank.
I'd go with a turbo, half a dozen nassarius, 3 Astraea snails and maybe an algae eating blenny of some sort depending on your other fish :)

So i bought 1 turbo, 2 nassarius, 2 emeralds, and 3 red legged hermits. I think its a good start... im planning on just going with two clowns, maybe a goby or blenny, and a firefish

Nerites are great algae eaters. At one stage it's all I had in my CUC along with a shrimp or two. Unfortunately they love to climb out of the tank and not climb back in. You need a lid without holes in it to reliably keep them.

Good start with the CUC. I believe it's better to start small with the CUC and add more as it's needed as opposed to adding a bunch in one lot and having half of it die off when the food source has been depleted. If you get a pair of clowns they may become highly aggressive. Especially in a 10 gal and as they get bigger. They may not allow other fish in the tank for long. They're one of the most aggressive fish in the hobby I reckon. Some species are better than others though. Some people have luck, some don't.

I'm not really into clowns, so I haven't had a great deal of experience with them, so take this with a grain of salt.
I think paired clowns will show more aggression (non paired clowns would hopefully pair up eventually and cause the same issues, so I'm saying paired clowns MAY have the same issues, just earlier) as they will be trying to rid other fish from "their" breeding area. If they're ready to breed, they don't want hungry little fish hanging around eyeing off their eggs.
Like I said, take that with a grain of salt. Maybe someone with more experience can chime in.
They also can get a lot more aggressive when there's an anemone nearby.

I agree with bad company. 10 fish in a ten gallon is a giant yikes. With LR and sand you dont have anywhere near enough water.

Haha my mistake! Trying to post at work and rushed right through it. But 4 is crowded. Just be prepared to stay on top of water changes.
