Best glass scraper thoughts?

I've got the Tunze one, but I'm not a big fan. It's fairly large for my tank, but more importantly, the magnets are so strong it's really difficult to move around.
I'm glad I didn't get one for my 20g AIO. That entire tank moves around enough when I use the Nano scrapper, this would probably pull the whole stand over.

Tunze care inside with algae free outside. Easily the best combo I’ve ever used. Chews through everything and the two together are better than either the Tunze alone or the algae free alone.
Is this combo best because the algae free buffs the glass on the outside? Or is it because of the strength on the Algae free gives the tunes more scraping force on the inside?

I like the tunze. Because it doesn't have a scouring pad that rests on the glass, it's less likely to get a chunk of sand caught in it.

I use the Flipper EDGE Magnetic Aquarium Algae Cleaner - Max for that exact reason.

It only contacts the glass with its two blades (I don't use the pad side)...

BUT, no matter what you use, I just started using Fritz Aquatics Aquarium Glass & Acrylic Cleaner and it makes the cleaning using the Flipper twice as easy! It's like a coating on the outer glass that makes it a breeze!

I highly recommend both! :)

Fellow member Sisterlimonpot makes a ceramic blade for the small end that does very well on the tough stuff. Handle with care if you try one. Its sharper than any razor blade I've ever used. I found out when made a grab to catch it when I dropped it once.

Does the tunze work on 3/4" glass?
Their site says the care magnet strong does. I Need to get one, I have the care magnet "normal" and it absolutely does not work on 3/4".

Tunze for the win tho.

Because it gives the tunze more strength. I’ve yet to find anything this combo can chew through, even annoying stuff close to the sand.

The real secret to success with magnet cleaners is the magnet sleeve, ( I get them from Champion Lighting) which prevents sand from scratching glass or acrylic.
When necessary I do use metal/razor blades, BUT, I have removed the 90 degree end corners and rounded them off with my dremel… no problems for past 20-30 years!

I have a regular Flipper that’s given me years of reliable service.

I’m sure the Tunze is a better value now that the Flipper has come up so dramatically in price.

I use tunze with plastic blade daily. I don’t like how big it is though and only keep in the water when I scrape. I also use the magic eraser once a week on the difficult spots that it doesn’t get off.

tunze- is it me or do you guys have to scrape slime/diatoms off your glass every 2-3 days?
Every other day to remove film algae if I want a clear view. I don't know why but I have a tank that runs NO3 20+ and PO4 0.4+ and I have to scrape the glass just as often on my other tank that is ULNS .
