Best glass scraper thoughts?

I like the maxspect refine, just picked it up. The flippers are nice too. The Tunze is nice.

Really I think they're mostly all the same. I've never had a problem with sand getting caught and scratching anything, but maybe I'm an outlier.

I am hanging out here on my own. I’ve tried the Tunze twice and hated it. What am I doing wrong? The last tank had 1/2” glass and it seemed hard to move, or just hard to move back and forth? My new tank has 3/4” glass. Maybe I should give it another try?

Most likely wrong by size. Too strong of a magnet for glass thickness.

That might be it. I think I got the strong which is up to 3/4” for the 1/2” thick glass. I’m going to try it on the 3/4” then. Hopefully with better luck.

I am using strong on my QT tank with 1/2 glass, and yep it's much harder to move.

I got these and love them, but my blades got nicks in them and they don't scrape as cleanly.
I haven't nicked my yet but I use that part mostly to get the scum line that forms at the waterline. I think I scrape so often due to film algae the tough stuff only grows on the back wall which I don't clean.

Answers will vary based on user satisfaction. Ive used many. Currently, I use mighty magnets and the Flipper Edge. The flipper gets mixed feedback and often many go too fast with this magnet and accuse it of being bad, I also liked the tunze strong plus but they often slingshot if you move too quickly.

I haven't used many others but I use the Algae Free Piranha Plus and its strong on my 1/2" glass. Not too strong where it hurts your arm, but just enough to really get a good pressure on the blade. With the blade it does a great job even getting tougher algae off the glass. I've had mine for a few years now and its still in great shape.

Mighty Magnets by far for any good size tank. This guy rocks. The options available are very nice and if you have a thicker walled tank, they have you covered!

I especially like the algae dozer pads as I have some mean strain of super glass loving algae in my bare bottom.

For glass its tunze, if you ever go the route of acrylic then its mighty magnets.

That's the route I was thinking of going. Sometimes the credit card scraper needs some work to get the hard stuff off

I saw this on Amazon and wanted to give it a shot

That's what I use for the sand line, back wall and harder algae. It requires minimal effort to remove even coralline algae on the glass. For the softer stuff, I just run the plastic tunze.
