Hi y'all!

I've been kicking around the idea of upgrading my system and going bigger. I was curious if anyone had some aquarium brands in mind they would absolutely avoid and who they would recommend for bigger tanks.
I have a 75g now and was thinking I could use the same stand and equipment with a 90 or 110. But before I buy something that looks like a good deal I wanted to hear from folks who have previous experience purchasing larger aquariums. I don't want to come home to 100+ gallons of saltwater and fish on my floor because of a cheap build. But also, I would love not to spend a years salary on the thing :)
Interested to hear your thoughts!

Cheers!

personally, when i do upgrade i’m choosing an IM tank. great pricing and little to no tank manufacturing issues like most of the popular brands

I scored an older Oceanic off fb marketplace. been super happy with it so far. 1/2inch glass has me pretty comfortable with it lasting

I got my 135 from my LFS. It is made by Aquarium Masters in So. Cal. 5/8 thick glass, euro bracing rimmed tank with dual corner overflows.

Stand was made by a local cabinet shop that supplies my LFS.

Sump is an Eshops Gen 4 AR300.

Tank $700
Stand $400 (unfinished)
Sump $300
Paint and stuff to finish the stand $75
Misc plumbing parts $75

Basically out the door I got a reef ready setup for just over $1500 plus a couple days work finishing the stand.

What blew the wallet out of the water was the lights. lol

Red sea makes awesome tanks.
Higher price is worth it to me personally because of how they look. Especially since my tank is in the living room.

The best tanks are custom made rimmed. Mass produced rimless not so much.

Custom, rimmed or properly braced.

My last tank I also requested perimeter brace on the bottom of the tank. This makes for a very thick silicone seam.
