SCIENTIFIC NAME: Forcipiger longirostris

COMMON NAME: Big Longnose Butterflyfish

SIZE: 8.7†(22 cm)

MIN. AQUARIUM SIZE: 75 US Gal (284 L)

FOODS & FEEDING: Feeds on small meaty foods, crustacean flesh, mysid shrimp, and frozen preparations. Should be fed a minimum of 3 times per day.

REEF COMPATIBILITY: Yes

CAPTIVE CARE: This species should be kept in a system filled with live rock supporting natural foods (amphipods). Only one Big Longnose Butterflyfish should be kept per tank unless a proven pair is available. Tank mates should be non-aggressive, and it may quarrel with other butterflyfish (Do not mix this species with Forcipiger flavissimus (Yellow longnose butterflyfish).
