Bizarre Creature

I ordered some amphipods online. I am cycling a new tank and have no other livestock...just pods. I do have an acrylic box with chaeto in it. There is this bizarre creature on the side of the box that looks like a giant amoeba. I have searched everywhere and can't seem to find anything about it. So I thought I would share with the forum and see if anyone has ever seen one of these before. It has a long cilia like tentacle. The smaller pieces broke off of the main creature. It also just engulfed an amphipod. It's about the size of a penny. Any idea? Thank you.
