I am looking for some blacklight carpet like they use in the bowling alley and arcades. Anybody know where I can get it at a decent price?

Man this stuff is high! We want to put some down in our teenagers youth room area at church and have some blacklight fun. :D

Its the fluorescent chemical that they add to the carpet fiber that makes it expensive and it could also be a special order thing too.

Yea the cheapest I am finding is $11.43 sq. yd.

We need like 155 sq. yds.

Looks like this might not happen! LOL!

this will sound crazy but back in the early 90's i had a mini van that i replaced the carpet with one from home depot. it was not made for black light but it still reacted perfectly.
bring a small battery opperated one with you and look for some crazy design. then see how it reacts.

you could put down regular carpet and then throw down a few area rugs over it. they ahve 6x6 ones on ebay for as little as 50 bucks
also you could always just buy regular old carpet and then buy a DJ lighting rig. it will flash all kinds of great lazer effects on the carpet and be just as cool AND cheaper.

We have some special lighting already, but we wanted to replace the carpet. I could probably just go black?? We don't want it looking..."normal." We want a real neat, studio, retro type room.

I'd call a roller rink and see if they have any they are looking to get rid of. Or, open the yellow pages and shop some of the smaller contractors - usually they can get you a fair price.

Good ideas...

I just got off the phone with a local who has some in stock and that seems pretty unusual. Just waiting for a call back. :)
