We have 6 hydra26's that are about a year old and controlled by my apex. For about the last month one of them has been turning on and off, getting worse with time. After contacting AI customer support through their website, I tried the light by holding the reset button, this did not cure the problem. I was then told to hold the button a bit longer to reset the light, then I was told to hold the button unplug the light and plug it back in holding the button the entire time then release the button - I know it sounds a bit like a hoax . . . None of this has helped. I then did the last maneuver on all of the lights, still the one light is acting up. I have wondered if there is a problem with the fan and perhaps the light is overheating? Has anyone experienced this problem? Any advice on how to get my hydra26 to work?

This is exact problem my 52 has, my fan still works tho. The indicator light that is beside the power input on the back of the light- is green when the light is powered up and running or red? If it stays red and blinks it will most likely be a faulty mainboard, I would also check the fan and gently clean it with a small soft paint brush.

I'm in the process of getting a new mainboard for my 52.

The light remains green. Will try cleaning the fan.

I had the same problem with my Hydras, have 3 of them, one would turn off for a bit, but then recover nicely. Talked with Tony Rogers, Aqua Illumination Facebook group, he asked me a couple questions about possible overlap of cloud effects, lunar settings, and on/off time (which I didn't have). Interestingly though - after a couple months of this - I now have two blue pucks on the light that was turning off that are blown. I contacted AI support and they offered to sell me some new blue pucks at $50/each.

On a separate thread here, I received some advice to try and clean off the electronics inside the light housing, and to use some electronic cleaner to clean the connectors. I'm going to try it, but haven't had the time yet. If you look in the Equipment/Light forum you'll see my initial post about Hydra light (or puck) blown to see the advice I was given.

Good Luck!
