GREAT LOOKIN TANK!

As for your wife giving permission for the larger tank...I hear from other manchildren like myself that it is easier to ask for forgiveness.

😬

Thanks!! I was scared… they always say most people dont make it a year in this hobby!! So this first year i feel is big!! Now I have the want bigger bug!!
I don't know which "they" you are referring to but am leaning towards the idea that "they" are not the same "they" that come and rob all your stuff. I do believe the disparity in longevity from years ago to now is due to unrealistic expectations, the readily available misinformation that is available online and the idea that we, as a society, have moved to one of instant gratification.

Atleast I don't lick windows like @That Crusso Kid
You say that as though licking windows is a bad thing. If I didn't know any better, I'd think you're a bigot against window lickers. I would like to add, though, that I am in the advanced window licker club as I color the windows with crayon before licking them. In retaliation for your comment, I will now be leaving the white and orange crayons out of my box.

How else are you supposed to know it's time to clean them? @That Crusso Kid is a pioneer!
Preach it, brother!

Good take!!

Maybe is the uglies and losses in the first year while the tank finds its “groove”? Pushes people out but yeah relates to your point of instant gratification for sure!

My first baby boy arrived! I could not be happier!

One day I would love for him to share the passion for this hobby with future generations.

What are some things you have done to involve your kids and get them excited to continue expanding on this amazing hobby?

I tend to keep my son away just because he doesn't tend to use enough attention to detail for my preference. However, my daughter is involved because I let her help pick the fish. She figures if she picks them she claims then so she now has a vested interest.

I try to keep most of my tanks on autopilot so not a lot of things she has to do but both her and my son will top off the ATO reservoir as needed and a couple of extra sets of eyes never hurts.

My son is my LFS run compadre though. 99% of my fish store visits has him in tow. He enjoys looking at the coral and fish and trying to figure out what they are. Not as much as he enjoys Supercars, but still enough.

I did a thing! Nice crew hyper reef!

Ive been rocking xr15 for the past year with reef brites xho but there is too much shading on the sps.

I pulled the trigger on these which ive been hearing that are rivaling xr 30…. I will report back if everything makes it 😬

Hey all, sorry new baby stuff lost track of time to update here 😬

Nicrew 200 is installed and running at 80% keeping a similar profile to my radion everything seems to be ok, no bleaching no new losses. So im happy. More coral coverage.

Hanging kit was so easy to install… im thinking on how to 3d print a bracket to hang the AI blade as well. Any 3d print ideas appreciated 😁

Pictures of the process:
