And here is some SPS close-ups (still working on my reef photography skills) with orange filter.
So any tips for shooting reef pictures on Iphone are always welcome.

Equipment update:

There are also a lot of roadworks in my town and the street I am living on. This has caused a power outage twice already.

Luckily the reef has been able to handle it but seems like its time to have a backup plan/some insurance against these power cuts.

Was first looking into the Tunze Safety connector + some batteries to power my Nero 5 through but for a little more money I could get a EcoFlow Delta 2 Portable power station.
More info on this thread: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/nero-5-battery-backup-plan.1119457/post-13714031

It is arriving next week and should get me through those power cuts. Only plan on connectiong my wavemakers to it as indoor temps are stable and the reef should be fine without lighting for a few hours.

What do you all have to manage those power cuts?

Quick pic before the lights go out under violets.
Tank is converging to a SPS dominant tank. Slowly selling the torches

Man that looks great!

Thank you!

Hoping to get even more color in there over the next months as I add some more sticks.

I think I am at the point that I can confidently call my first reef tank a success 🚀

Was getting a lot of algae on the glass over the last weeks and a minor Ulva outbreak. So I did order some extra cleanup cleanup crew

Added
- 10 blue legged hermits
- 1 Mitrax crab
- 5 trochus snails
- 1 sand sifting starfish

1 week later and almost all Ulva is gone and only had to clean the glass once which is nice. Also repotted the Monstera plant next to the tank as it outgrew it's pot. Love the vibe of this corner

Maintanance day, repositioned some acros as the were to close to eachother. Coleration is getting better but still not where I want it. Nutrients are still low so might look into ammonia dosing in the near future 🤔.

Will need to frag the dragon soul torch soon as its getting to big.

Fragged my Dragon soul torch Yesterday it was taking up to much space! It grew from 1 head to 12 in a year (not counting the multiple baby heads)!

Vivarium in the Netherlands is in 2 weeks So hoping to find some nice pieces there!

Scored some fine acropora (including my first tenuis) yesterday at Vivarium in the Netherlands! Lovely conference so sad it was the last time.

Also got myself a small glitter goni frag. Excited to see the potential grow in that one

As most reef tanks I have to control Aptaisia. It is getting a bit out of control so it was time for some countermeasures.
Got 5 berghia to control it + 2 peppermints for long term prevention

Was clearing some room yesterday by trimming my stylo's

Took out the green stylo. The thing is dense, the core is a tennis ball sized lump op skeleton with branches shooting out of it in all directions.

Seems like this one was consuming a lot of elements. started as a 4cm long, .5cm thick branch a year ago.

IMG_5841.jpeg

It is now awaiting collection on the bottom of my reef
